Waving the white flag

The 2015 Christmas vacation was not easy on our brood.

The plague hit our home.

It started off with the oldest child getting sick in the middle of the night one day before Christmas, which I might add here, that we were to host. at. our. home. I mean, who doesn’t want to rush right over for Christmas dinner when they know the puke bucket is out-that is not the love your family wants you to share with them. Luckily, she was better within 24 hours and we were able to clean every surface that may have flu germs on it in time to host family Christmas.

Then, the middle child fell victim the day after Christmas in the middle of the night (why must these things happen in the middle of the night?). Nothing wakes a parent up faster than the sound of a child puking-am I right?

Then the hubs comes home on the 30th not feeling well and quarantines himself to the bedroom. Then a few hours later the youngest child wakes up in the middle of the night (apparently that is the best time to get sick) and pukes in her bed (who doesn’t like doing laundry at 2:30 in the morning).

Thankfully the crew was all feeling well by the first of the year. Mama sanitized every surface and was quite confident that we could have performed surgery anywhere in the house. We were done, right?

Nope….

Jan 2, at 4:30 am, Mama fell victim to the flu. The hubs quarantined me to the bedroom and took care of the kids and I.

No one was spared, it went through all 5 of us. I was waving the white flag. Please let that be it for the year.

Oh, and the youngest was able to fracture her arm during that week too-but that’s a post for another day, you can find out how we “Broke in the New Year” in my next post.

  1. Good post. I learn something new and challenging on sites I stumbleupon every
day. It’s always exciting to read through content from other authors and practice something from
    other sites.
